The pink city.

La ville rose

It’s been a nice relaxing few days in Toulouse.

It’s a university city so has a cool young vibe and it has been very well taken care of. There are trees and parks everywhere. Lots of squares and pedestrianised areas in the old town, all lined with cafes and restaurants. And if shopping is your thing – they have everything here.👌🏻

We visited a WW2 resistance museum, Georges Bemberg’s art museum, the Victor Hugo food markets.

Hotel of Assezat Art Museum.
Which had a great collection.
In the evening the banks of the Garonne are lined with locals.
Pont Nerf
Squares full of diners.
Capital Place
It’s so hot in the evenings, every restaurant had their tables and chairs outside on the streets.
This was the entrance to our apartment. There’s a courtyard in the middle for our bikes.
And this is the neighbours cat.

So, we really liked Toulouse. ❤️

Today we got half way along our ride to Montauban and it started pouring rain. We sheltered under a bridge with this couple. It was nice chatting to them. (With a bit of help from google translate;)
The day ended up being 58kms to Montauban.
It’s about 12kms off our canal (on the river Tarn) but was
worth the extra few kms out.
It’s a very historic town.
The town square is stunning.
It has this open arcade that runs all the way around the square under cover.
With a water feature in the middle that the kids played in.
We had dinner on our balcony.
This other square had a band playing in it. We had crepes there after dinner.
Looks like a rock and roll group dancing to the band. (A bit out of our league – so we just watched)
And watched a storm roll in…
