It should have been an earlier start this morning, but we waited for the amphitheater in Orange to open for a look.Still thinking about how good Boney M would have been…And then through the museum over the road. And then – a wander through the markets, it’s was after 11 by the time we left to go to Avignon. It was not far, but it was getting hot.Bloody guide book took me on a tikki tour too.So, we’d got a little lost along the way – but we were glad to see the city walls. And WOW, this city sure is a sight to behold. But it was SO busy (I know it doesn’t look it with this picture 😅) and it was SO hot. We went through the Palais des Papes which is enormous and dominates the skyline of the city. It was so damn hot in there we couldn’t wait to get out!We ended up riding our bikes over the river to have dinner just to get out of the city.It was the best move 😜👌🏻The ruins of the Bridge of Avignon. It used to have 22 arches back in the day. Now only 4 remain. The walls around the city are the best preserved medieval fortifications in France.
