To the Atlantic & beyond.

Yesterday we came across from Bordeaux.
Due to all the wild fires around over the summer the actual cycle way had supposedly been closed half way across. So I had used Kamoot to find me a new route from St Helene’s.
This was where it was closed. Pfttt! There were plenty of bikes coming through. So on we went. (I wasn’t looking forward to where Kamoot may have had us going)
We made it to Maubuisson on Lac du Carcans. 75kms. And it was roller coaster riding through the forest to get here.

Today we woke up and went down to Carcans beach for breakfast. The weather had said it was a 45% chance of rain today for a couple of hours.

It was 100% ALL day!
Once you’re soaked – there’s not much point in stopping. So we put the speaker on, turned it up and smashed out 64kms.
We did stop for mussels and chips for lunch (smallest mussels ever!)
And then, just as we pulled up at Soulac-sur-mer – our stop for tonight, the sun came out.💁🏻‍♀️
There are a lot of bunkers still along this coastline.
So, yeah. We made it to the Atlantic and have found the Velodyssee bike path.
