35kms in 35degrees.

It may have been easy to get into Lyon, but word has it – it’s tricky to get out of. So chief navigator took the option of a short 25minute train trip out of the city.

On our way to the station we saw The Stone Watchman – a memorial to France’s resistance fighters.
Perrache train station. (Put your valuables away:/
A short 25 minute ride down to Vienne.
This town so close to Lyon was captured by Julius Caesar 47bc and transformed into a provincial Roman Capital. Many Roman artefacts remain. This is the temple of Augustus.
St Maurice Cathedral.
It was a fabulous flat path today.
The remaining towers of a suspension bridge destroyed in WW2
The bridge across to Serrières. Our spot for tonight.
It’s 35 degrees now.
Plonked ourselves down, ordered two big beers and proceeded to find out where our accommodation is for tonight.
As luck would have it – it’s the door to left of where we are sitting.
Happy days. 🤸🏻

We’d eaten ourselves silly in Lyon and all morning we said to each other – No more food, no more food…

1st boulangerie we saw!🫢
We have a great little apartment – I always love it when we overlook the river we’re riding down.
A bit random. No wardrobe in our room – but there is a sauna!

😂

It’s 9.30pm and still 30 degrees.
