Annecy to St Genix-Sur-Guiers

Leaving Annecy this morning – with a little train ride back to Culoz on the Rhone where we pick up our route down river again.
It was a late start on the bikes today after our train ride. 12.15pm.
The first town along our way was Chanaz – known as the little Venice of Savoy.
A nice new suspension bridge.
46km later. The sports bar next to the church was the perfect place to cool down and catch up on the Tour de France, which we seem to be following down the valley.😜

St Genix is a small village. There wasn’t too much to choose from for accommodation tonight.

It was either this Chateau on the edge of town or…
You had me at Chateau.😂
I think it suits me, doesn’t it!
Our room has the turret at the top…but that means – No air con no lift.
They have dinner out on the terrace.
‘In my pie hole’😜
It’s a pannacotta with apricot. H👌🏻
Signs of wild fires around France.

Thanks for sharing, Susan. I love vicariously riding along with you!

Your Tour de France experience brought back some great memories of when we crossed paths with it in the Pyrenees a couple of years ago. We drove off-road and did a bit of rally driving through farms to get as close to the course as we could. Then we literally blinked and the peloton had flown past! The free merch was incredible.

Enjoy the biking, and have a glass or two of French Chablis for me… it’s my all time fav.🥂🥰
