The Longest day. 110kms.

These signs are at the exit of every town.
In Romanian, “Drum Bun” is a common expression meaning “Have a good trip,” “Safe travels,” or “Bon voyage”. 

I really hope today was going to be a ‘Drum Bun’.

But it was a very busy DN5 road out of the city this morning.

Once you get your eye in, this isn’t too bad. You just stick to your side of the line and ride. The truck drivers are professionals and move over when they can, as do most car drivers. The BMW drivers however, do not. (And there are a lot of BMWs!)
Everything on the right hand side of the line are our lands. 🫣

Once we turned of the main road (about 10kms later) the road was quiet. But, we did have ‘undulating’ hills for a lot of the morning. Nothing we couldn’t handle, but we had a long way to go.

I won’t bore you with any more photos of the scenery today, just think of yesterday’s scenery – it was pretty much the same.

We only have 3 days left til we reach the Black Sea. Then we’ll stop spamming your emails every day. 😁

So basically today was like being in a 6 hour spin class…(& we had the ‘Dad hits’ banging on our boom box)

We stopped briefly for an early lunch.

Cascioerele.

Then for a coffee in Oltenita.

After that, we only had 30kms to go to our destination. Of course we had a head wind the rest of the trip.

We made it! A little place on a lake in Dorobantu.

Sitting here enjoying our beers.

And we had a visitor!
