Some of you know that I have a little guide book by Mike Wells, which I use to follow this route (as well as the Kamoot app)
On this stage, the author says “There is nothing of interest for the tourist or cyclist for 60kms”. He is right.

It’s basically the same scenery as the past few days. Lots of agricultural fields, sunflowers, wheat fields etc etc. We’ve spared you the endless videos and photos we’ve taken which look…. exactly like this
There were more horse drawn carts, shepherds with their herds of goats and sheep. It was rural and, if you think that “rural” means “smells of dung”, in today’s case – you’re spot on.
We were lucky to have a nice strong tail wind for the whole 72kms today and we made it to our destination before midday. 💨💨

Our lovely apartment is very small but we insisted that we share it with our bikes and our host who met us – helped bring them up the two flights of stairs.

Giurgiu is completely covered in the communist style apartments – all done under Nikolai Ceausescu’s idea of systematisation.

We bought groceries to cook our own dinner. We’re a little over having to try and enjoy our meal while every person over the age of 14 smokes furiously around us.
Tomorrow will be our biggest day yet. 110kms to get to the next accommodation. (Hopefully we’ll have another tailwind:) 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
