Except us – we were wandering around a little lost today. Kamoot was telling me to go one way and the signposts the other.(must have been new paths)

Taking our bikes out of the hotel after breakfast.
It was another cracker of a day and this stretch was very pretty.
First town through was Dillingen. These cobblestones make the old teeth rattle though.
Then a quick pit stop for a wash.

Next – through Blenheim battlefield site (13.08.1704)

It was during the War of the Spanish Succession. French and Bavarians against English, Dutch and Prussians.

After the fighting there were 20,000 bodies on the battlefield. 300 years later farmers still unearth remains.

And then 44kms later into Donauwörth.

What a gorgeous town – the colours of the houses and beautiful gardens and flowers everywhere!

Town Hall. The Glockenspiel resounds everyday at 4pm. (The Magic Violin)
Well. Here it is.
Monastery of the Holy Cross.
(Which, allegedly contains a piece of The Holy Cross)
Had a couple of really good coffees doing my blog this arvo. (Hard to get a decent cap here)
And a piccie of our digs for tonight. It’s the princely sum of $200A (€111 euro & $217NZ) with breakfast. the prices should go down as we head east and the school holidays finish. But generally we’ve been paying somewhere between $170-$220 in Germany.
Back at my local for dinner.
