So, after a week in Istanbul it was time to head back to Bucharest for a few more days before making our way to Milos.

But first, there was a little excursion up to The Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania.

One of Transylvanias most famous is, of course – Dracula. This is his home in Bran Castle. (Bram Stoker’s story sure did make this town – it was packed full of tourist buses)
Snow on the mountains.
Lots of little stalls around town selling everything.
The next stop on our day trip was the lovely old city of Brasov.
Where there was some old car racing going on.
Then back into the town of Sinai to visit Peleş Castle.
Built by Romania’s Royal family.
The rooms were full of carved features in the timber.
King Carol had a pretty cool collection of weaponry.
Some ‘old bloke’ taking a load off.😜
Then back to our little apartment in Bucharest in the Old Town.
Which looks directly at this view. A church on the left, a police station on the right. And a brothel in the middle. A good people watching spot.
Then, it was time to collect our bikes. The boys stored our bikes for week, dismantled & boxed them, then dropped us to the bus stop…. for $17 each bike.

Great guys, Mario & Marius @ Giant in Bucharest. 🙏🏻

And we headed to the airport, we certainly get some ‘looks’ carting these things around town.

Into Athens – where we’ve left our bikes til we return in a week.

Skip forward and we’re heading to Milos:)
I’ll be doing a few laps in there shortly.
28 years of marriage teaches you one thing: your partner can go from ‘let’s save money’ to ‘you only live once’ in the same afternoon and you just roll with it.😁
So far we’re impressed!!!

Our dinner companions tonight.

We’ve hired a Quad bike to have a look around the Island tomorrow. 👏🏻
