A 9km ride from our hotel and we arrive at Chico ferry ramp.

This will be our last picture with the river. Eurovelo 6 has two options to the Black Sea. One goes north and comes out just under Ukraine.🙅🏻‍♀️ The second heads east and cuts across the Danube-Black Sea Canal to Constanta.🙋🏻‍♀️
While we waited for the ferry we watched hundreds of birds heading south. They came down and flew only inches above the water for ages – it was beautiful to see.
The ferry was ‘chocka’s’ this morning.
52 days and 2758kms in and The ‘wild woman of Borneo’ needs to find a hairdresser. (And that’s just for starters)
Once off the ferry, we skirt the Bulgarian town of Silistra and start climbing through vineyards and orchards onto the river terrace.
After a really tough climb we arrive at the Derwent Monastry.
It was a good excuse to catch our breath.

From there we spent the rest of our ride on a roller coaster of climbs and descents. It was 35degrees and no town was particularly enticing us to stop and linger.

Today’s landscape.
Another hill I got to have a rest on.
Our sign to Constanta.
A pit stop for Coke and Mars bar. That mars bar was the highlight of our day.
Horse: “Where you guys going?” Me: “Constanta”. Horse “Why?” See what these hills are doing to me – I couldn’t remember why!😜
Finally, we arrived in our town for tonight. Adamclisi. 80kms today.
We met these two, also doing the same trip. Svenja (Germany) and her friend from France (Je suis désolé, j’ai oublié ton nom mon ami !)
There was a guard dog that patrols inside the fence line 24/7 called Sultan. (He just wanted to keep shaking Michael’s hand.)
I accidentally woke him from a nap. 😯 “FRIEND, FRIEND!!”
