We had an early start again, but then thought we’d ’pop over’ the river to see Dunafoldvar for coffee. It wasn’t too far out of the way – but by the time we’d got back on track, we regretted it! Especially since we were too early for the coffee shops!

We crossed the river to see Dunafoldvar.
It was a pretty town with an impressive restored rectangular tower from a 16th century Turkish castle.
We ended up having coffee in Dunapataj.

It was a pretty uneventful day. We had a hot headwind again for most of the ride and it was hitting 34degrees by the time we made it to our accommodation. The path was either on country roads but mainly on a sealed flood dyke.

Some guy with his horse that lead the uprising against the Habsburgs 1700’s. 💁🏻‍♀️
If only we had a tail wind!😮‍💨
Having a moment in some shade.

Kalocsa – where we are staying tonight is one of the oldest towns in Hungary.

All the baroque buildings surrounding the square are painted yellow in honour of Maria Theresa, Habsburg empress at the time they were built.

We had a beautiful meal in town – with wine and dessert – all for $37A !!

Off to Mohacs tomorrow.
