8am this morning.
8.05 we were diving for cover as the skies opened up. (I have an unwilling participant🫣)
It didn’t last long and we were off. 85kms to get done today.
We crossed the river by bridge.
Castles at every turn. (How the heck do they get up there?!)

We were travelling through the Wachau area, known for its orchards and vineyards. This was some of the prettiest country and towns we have seen.

This is (a copy) of The Willendorf Venus. (The original is 11cm tall and in a museum in Vienna.) She was discovered in 1908 during excavations on the local railway. It is believed to be a Palaeolithic female fertility symbol, the most realistic object from this period in Europe.
St Michael’s.
12kms out of Tulln we had a wee rest.

We got into Tulln at 2.30ish. A bit hungry and thirsty.

Oma and Opa were looking at us like we’d stolen their table.
We had a conversation using google translate.
A very interesting town.
Lovely hotel right on the river.

Hey Susan & Michael We can’t comment on your fabulous posts as it tells me there’s another person logged in with my very name. Such an interesting 🧐 ride you’re having and we’re fascinated by your daily posts ( obviously your primary school teacher taught you to write well & descriptively) 😂 particularly so as we’re going on one of those huge cigar like cruise boats in 3 weeks from Budapest to Amsterdam. Love your humour too – the superpowers on the wine glass works every time I find! Better get up & pack my bag – we fly to Rome in 2 more sleeps! It’s raining in Katikati this morning. Come visit us next time you’re back here.

Happy safe travels Jane & Martin.

      Dear Martin and Jane,
So lovely to hear from you! And so glad you are enjoying our adventure with us:)
It sounds like you are going to have a wonderful time as well. It’s good timing – the European school holidays have finished so it shouldn’t be too crazy.
Travel safe and we will definitely catch up with you when we are home in Kati next.

      Cheers
      Susan and Michael xx
