This morning seems like a long time ago.

We did leave extra early – 6.30am – as we had 88kms to do today.

It didn’t start out smooth sailing. Chief Navigator – henceforth known as CN, hadn’t slept much last night despite a full tummy, a cosy bed and air conditioning. The camp yesterday was a bit too much and kept her awake.

CN couldn’t decide this morning whether to go over the busy Mauthausen bridge (with no cycle lane) or take the ferry to the other bank (which wasn’t really an option as it didn’t start operating til 9am.)

She decided on neither of the two options in her travel guide book, but elected to stay on the north side of the bank for 21kms to Wallsee. What a good decision. 👏🏻🦸🏻‍♀️ An awesome track – we were coming into Grein at 9am. Only 44kms left to go.

Crossing the river at the dam
Along this track for a bit…
Austria are doing their cycle ways well. 👍🏻 this is coming into Grein.
Looking for where exactly the ferry leaves. (And a coffee spot;)
And along came Roger from the UK – the chap we’d met yesterday at Mauthausen. A quick catch up and run down on who took which routes.
Then a coffee, before heading to the ferry.
Another 20kms along and we were in Ybbs.
Where we came across this cute bike museum.
The fire bike.

Then only another 20kms into Melk.

Our hotel for tonight.
Nice town – except the cruise boats stop here and it’s a little busy.

Now utilising my superpowers for the 2nd time today…

Watch me make this glass of wine disappear.🙌🏻
